A book about what happens when the life you’ve built no longer feels like the life you’re meant to be living, and the journey back to what matters.
A book about what happens when the life you’ve built no longer feels like the life you’re meant to be living, and the journey back to what matters.
You may have built the career, carried the responsibility, provided for the people around you and become very good at functioning under pressure.
And yet somewhere along the way, something has become quieter.
A sense of direction, connection, meaning or perhaps simply the feeling that you are fully present in the life you have worked so hard to build.
A Return to Grounded Presence is not about becoming someone new.
It is about recognising the drift, understanding what pulled you away from yourself, and beginning the return to what matters.
How capable men can gradually lose connection with themselves without realising it.
What demanding environments reveal about real strength, regulation and presence.
Practical principles and practices for living with greater clarity, connection and purpose.

We rarely lose ourselves all at once. The drift happens gradually, through pressure, responsibility, distraction and the demands of everyday life.
A Return to Grounded Presence explores what pulls us away from ourselves, what keeps us there, and the principles and practices that can help us return.
Recognising how we gradually become disconnected from ourselves and what matters.
Understanding the patterns, pressures and behaviours that keep us operating on autopilot.
Learning to regulate the body, quiet the noise and create space between stimulus and response.
Reconnecting with values, meaning and the deeper principles by which you want to live.
Turning insight into practice — and building a life that feels more grounded, connected and fully lived.

I joined the Royal Marines at sixteen and left the Special Boat Service at forty.
For much of my adult life, I worked in environments where composure, resilience and clear decision-making mattered. But some of the most important lessons came later — through injury, recovery, fatherhood, teaching, ancient practices and the quieter work of understanding what it actually means to live well.
I began to see that many capable men weren't struggling because they lacked strength or discipline. They had simply become disconnected from themselves beneath the weight of responsibility, expectation and constant movement.
I know something of that drift because I have lived it too.
A Return to Grounded Presence grew from that journey. It brings together lived experience, practical tools and enduring ideas that have helped me — and the people I've worked with — find greater steadiness, clarity and connection.
This isn't a book about my life.
It's a book about returning to yours.
